Emergency Beacon

Emergencies get reported as "somewhere past the second aid station," or by someone running for help. Every second spent describing where help is needed is a second responders aren't on their way.

A volunteer sees it first. They open the Emergency Beacon, pick what's wrong and send. It goes straight to the captain or volunteer lead assigned to their station or zone, with the volunteer's GPS location. No one assigned? It goes to the closest member of your core team. No phone tree. No group text. The lead calls or messages the volunteer, or follows directions to the spot, and decides what happens next. If it's a health or safety call, the lead calls in medical or security and sends them to that location. Your responders run the response. MOOV gets them to the right spot.

Live crew tracking

Once the race starts, your crew spreads across miles of course, and "where are you?" takes over the radio.

Some directors have built their own apps just to see their team from headquarters. In MOOV, your core team shares its GPS location live, and volunteers' locations appear when they share them. When a captain needs more hands, say a volunteer reports a barricade blown over at a turn, you see who is closest and reach them directly, without asking around on the radio.

When the weather turns or a section of course changes, half your crew hears late, or never hears at all.

Race directors have told us about courses that changed mid-race with no way to tell every volunteer. Most changes start with a volunteer who sees it first: a freight train stopped across the course, police closing a road, a turn gone slick after rain. Their captain or volunteer lead decides whether the station can handle it, like slowing runners through the slick turn. When it changes the course, it's your call. Send one alert to the whole team, one crew or one area, and it lands on every phone at the same time.

Your course is in Google My Maps, your site plan is a PDF, and the printed copy is already out of date.

Directors have asked for a better site-map tool for years, and most still mark up satellite screenshots in Canva or PowerPoint. Race-day check-in

Some volunteers never show up, more of them on a rainy day, and a clipboard can't tell you where the gaps are.

Volunteers scan a code at the event and check in from their phone's browser, no app needed. A slot nobody has claimed opens up 30 minutes before its shift. Walk-ins and late arrivals fill those slots: they pick one, or MOOV places them where they're needed. Each station has a set number of slots, so none gets too many, and you see who's here and where they're working the whole time. A volunteer slot is used only when someone checks in.
